To Know and Introduce Him Part XI with Pastor Mike:
In this week's message, Pastor Mike reminded us that the heart of our faith is simple but not easy: love God and love people.
Weâre called to Love Himâwith all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:28â30). Jesus makes it clear that loving Him means prioritizing Him above family, comfort, and even our own plans (Matthew 10:37â39; 8:18â22). He doesnât want part-time devotionâHe wants our whole life. The question He asks is, âDo you love Me?â Weâre challenged to Love Peopleâthe second greatest commandment (Mark 12:31â33). This love isnât just words; itâs action. We saw this in Isaiahâs call for justice and compassion (Isaiah 1:11â17) and Paulâs teaching in 1 Corinthians 13 about what real love looks like. Jesusâ story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25â37) pushes us to: open our eyes to the needs around us, open our hearts with compassion, open our hands to help, open our schedules to make time, open our wallets to be generous. Finally, in John 13:34â35, Jesus gives us a new command: to love one another just as He loved usâsacrificially and visiblyâso that the world will know we are His disciples. This week, and every week, letâs not just say we love Godâletâs show it by how we love people.
